Privacy Policy

PitchChanger.io is a free online pitch changer. We designed it to be private by default: processing is 100% client-side in your browser, and your audio files never leave your device.

What we collect

• Anonymized usage statistics via Google Analytics (page views, feature usage).
• If you sign in to leave feedback: your name, email, and profile picture from Google or Facebook.

Feedback & OAuth Login

When you sign in via Google or Facebook to leave feedback, we store your name, email, and profile picture. Your name and profile picture are publicly visible on any feedback you post. Your email is stored for account management but is never displayed publicly.

How processing works

All pitch shifting happens in your browser using Web Audio API and SoundTouch. Your audio stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.

The iPhone app (Pitch Changer: Key & Tempo)

The same tools are available as an iPhone app, published by CHOIS MUSIC, INC. This section covers the app. Everything above covers the website.

• Your audio stays on your phone. Every tool processes the files you choose on the device itself. Nothing is uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never see your files.
• Only files you pick. The app works with audio or video files you choose yourself through the Files or Photos picker. It does not scan your music library, your photos or your contacts.
• Microphone. The Guitar Tuner, Tap BPM Detector and Voice Recorder use the microphone, and only while you are on those screens. The tuner records nothing. Voice Recorder recordings are saved on your phone and nowhere else.
• Ads (Google AdMob). The free app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and your interaction with ads to show and measure them. When the app first opens it asks, through Apple's standard prompt, whether ads may be personalised. You can say no and the app works exactly the same. You can change this later in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
• Removing the ads. The Remove Ads purchase takes the ads away for good. Apple handles the payment; we never receive your card or bank details, only a receipt that the purchase was made.
• Crash and usage reports. The app may send anonymous crash reports and usage statistics (which tools are used, how often, the device model and iOS version) through Google Firebase so we can fix problems and improve the app. These reports never contain your audio.
• European Union users. Before any ads are shown you will see a consent screen (Google's User Messaging Platform) where you can decline personalised ads.
• Children. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
• Your choices. To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app; nothing is kept on our side. Ad settings live in your iPhone settings.

The ChatGPT app (Vocal Remover by PitchChanger.io)

Our vocal remover is also available as an app inside ChatGPT, published by CHOIS MUSIC, INC. This section covers that app. Everything above covers the website.

• Your song stays on your device. The app separates the vocals and the instrumental on your own computer or phone. The song you pick is never uploaded to us.
• Downloads are kept for 15 minutes. ChatGPT does not let apps save files directly, so when you press Download MP3, that one finished MP3 (the instrumental or the vocals) is sent to our server to create a download link. It sits behind a random link, is never shared, and is deleted automatically after 15 minutes.
• No accounts, ads or tracking. The app does not ask you to sign in, shows no ads, sets no cookies, and never sees your ChatGPT conversation. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps basic request logs (such as IP address and time) for a few days to keep the service secure.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads and measure performance. These cookies are controlled by Google as a third party.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic and understand how users interact with our tool. This helps us improve the service. GA4 uses cookies and collects anonymized usage data including:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Device type, browser, and location (country-level)
• Feature usage (file uploads, pitch adjustments, downloads)

What we don't do

• No selling or sharing of personal data.
• No hidden uploads. On the website, files stay in your browser.
• No tracking of individual users or personal information.

Your choices

If you prefer not to see personalized ads, you can manage ad preferences in your Google account or use your browser's ad/privacy settings. You can also use private browsing, but note that processing may not work in private mode on some browsers.
