The Original Band, With Space for Your Drums

A drumless track keeps the vocals, bass, and other instruments while taking the existing drum part out of the way. That leaves the song's cues and energy in place, but gives you room to play the groove, rewrite the beat, or rehearse fills against the actual arrangement.

It is most useful when a metronome alone feels too bare. You can practice entrances, stops, dynamics, and transitions with the full musical context, then compare your choices with the original recording afterward.

How to Make a Drumless Practice Track

1

1. Open the Drumless preset

Open the Stem Splitter with Drumless selected, then choose the song you want to practice with.

2

2. Separate the song

The browser AI creates Vocals, Drums, Bass, and Music parts. Nothing is sent to a server, and no account is required.

3

3. Download Drumless

Choose the highlighted Drumless output. It combines Vocals, Bass, and Music into one WAV file without the separated drum stem.

4

4. Rehearse in sections

Start with one verse or chorus, count through the gaps, and add the rest of the arrangement once your time feels steady.

What the Drumless Download Includes

One play-along mix

The Drumless WAV combines the separated Vocals, Bass, and Music parts. The isolated Drums part is left out of this download.

Common audio formats supported

Open MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC, OGG, OPUS, or WebM files. The finished drumless track downloads as an uncompressed WAV.

Automatic clip protection

The tool scans the complete combined mix. If its peak would clip, one uniform reduction is applied to the whole file and shown beside the download.

Private browser storage

Separation and mixing run on your device. Temporary parts stay in private browser storage and are streamed in small blocks instead of uploaded.

A Simple Play-Along Routine

A backing track becomes useful practice when you give each pass one job.

Map the song first

Count the intro, verse, chorus, bridge, breaks, and ending before adding busy fills. Know where the band is going.

Work one transition

Repeat the hardest handoff between sections. Keep the pulse through silence instead of rushing to the next downbeat.

Record a full take

Listen back for balance and timing. A fill can be clean on its own and still cover a vocal cue or arrive early.

Current Limitations

The maker is free and private, with a few practical limits:

  • It needs a recent Chrome or Edge browser on a computer with WebGPU support.
  • iPhone and iPad support is coming; use a computer for now.
  • Each song can be up to six minutes long.
  • Separation quality varies by mix. Live drums blended with room sound, claps, percussion, distortion, or dense guitars may leave traces in the backing track.

Drumless Track FAQ

What is a drumless track?

It is a backing track with the song's drum part removed. This maker combines the separated Vocals, Bass, and Music parts so a drummer can play the missing part.

Can I make drumless tracks to play along with for free?

Yes. There is no fee, watermark, sign-up, or server upload. Use the Drumless preset and download the finished practice track as WAV.

Does making a drumless track change the song's speed or key?

No. The tool separates and recombines parts at the original timing and pitch. It does not intentionally change tempo or key.

Why can I still hear a little percussion?

AI separation estimates parts from one finished stereo mix. Cymbals, claps, room echoes, and instruments with sharp attacks can overlap with the drum part, so results vary by recording.

Which files and browsers work?

The input supports common formats including MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC, OGG, OPUS, and WebM. Use a recent Chrome or Edge browser on a computer; iPhone support is coming.
